The Nitecore P20iX is a flashlight with a very high performance. Thanks to its four powerful CREE XP-L2 V6 LEDs, the flashlight has a luminous flux of a whopping 4000 lumens according to the manufacturer, which is very impressive for a lamp of this size. The manufacturer states a range of 221 meters, which reinforces the impression that the Nitecore P20iX is a high-performance flashlight. What is special about the P20iX is its two different user modes, Daily Mode and Tactical Mode, which adapt the lamp's characteristics for suitable purposes. You read more about the different modes below. The flashlight is also suitable in harsh environments as it is IP68-rated and has a hard outer shell made of aluminium. Nitecore P20iX is powered by Nitecore's Intelligent series 21700HPi Li-ion battery that provides an operating time from 30 minutes to 350 hours according to the manufacturer. The battery is easily charged by connecting the included USB-C cable to the flashlight's charging port, which is cleverly placed on the flashlight. The charging port is smartly protected against water and dirt. The Nitecore P20iX can also be powered by two CR123A batteries.

One of the lamp's main features is the smart control functions – the lamp is controlled through two separate switches for current and power mode. The switch turns the lamp on and off. It can either be pressed all the way down, or halfway down to turn on the lamp momentarily (ie until the switch is released). This is an important feature in tactical use. The light flow of the flashlight is controlled via the second button. The power mode Strobe - i.e. a flashing mode, is quickly activated from all power modes even when the lamp is switched off. This function can be useful in emergency situations to alert those around you of your situation or to scare away or distract, for example, threatening animals.
