The Coticule Yellow Slurry Stone is the ultimate tool for enhancing the sharpening process on natural whetstones. Hand-crafted in Belgium, this stone generates a fine, garnet-rich slurry—a mixture of water and abrasive particles—that significantly improves the performance of your whetstone. The slurry not only streamlines the sharpening process but also polishes the edge to razor-sharp perfection, making it a must-have for both professionals and hobbyists.
The Ardennes Coticule Selected sharpening stone is comprised of a top layer of Coticule and a bottom layer of unusable black slate.
Coticule sharpening stones are natural products. They are modified by hand. As such small differences in shape and size cannot be ruled out.

The Belgian whetstones from Ardennes Coticule are found in the Belgian Ardennes since 1625. The whetstones from Ardennes Coticule are also known as Belgian chunks, named after the chunks of stone required for the production of the Coticule and the Belgian blue whetstone. Both products are real natural products with a labour-intensive mining process.
Coticule and Belgian Blue Whetstone (BBW)
The Coticule is a yellow stone supplied on a (unusable) slate.
BBW contains fewer grenades than the Coticule and they are larger. The stone is harder and sharpens slower than the Coticule.
The sharpening result obtained with both stones is almost identical.
Because they are natural products each stone is unique.
