A beautiful piece from the Luxury line - a traditional shaped Opinel folding knife, with a French oak handle and a stainless steel blade. Equipped with a ViroBlock safety lock. Blade length 8.5 cm. Thanks to the natural properties of the wood, each piece is original.

Opinel N°08 folding knife, with an oak handle - a touch of real France
The handle is made of hardwood French oak, very resistant to insects and mold, due to the high content of tannins the wood is a beautiful yellow-brown, with regular veins. Modified stainless steel Sandvik12C27 is used to make the blade. Thanks to the addition of chromium, it is anti-corrosion and does not require any special maintenance. The carbon content of at least 0.40% provides excellent sharpness. Blade hardness 57-58 HRC.

95% of the wood used to make the handles comes from sustainably managed French forests. This prevents excessive logging and air pollution during long transport, and nature is therefore less affected. The main wood supplier manages forests in the French Jura region and is of course a PEFC certificate holder.

The choice of steel determines the lifespan and quality of the blade, and therefore due attention is paid to it, because as a result it affects the main useful properties of the entire product. High-quality Swedish steel 12C27 (Sandvik) was selected for Opinel knives. This steel is highly resistant to corrosion and easy to maintain thanks to the addition of chromium. The addition of carbon in the steel (0.40%) guarantees an excellent edge that holds its shape even when in contact with harder material without the need for sharpening.
