The Kengata knife is a specific type of Japanese knife that combines elements of the traditional Santoku knife with a shape that resembles a kiritsuke (a knife with a straight blade and a tip like a Japanese sword). The name "Kengata" literally means "sword shape," suggesting its versatility and precision. This blade shape is ideal for slicing, chopping and slicing, while the tip of the knife allows for precision work such as decorative carving or fine slicing.
