Beavercraft knives and carving chisels are very sharp (it is recommended to supervise children during carving activities, children should be older than 14 years old) and the resulting cut is precise, without any cracks in the wood. The 65G carbon steel blades are hardened to a hardness of 57 - 59 HRC. Carbon steel holds its edge well and is easy to sharpen, but is more prone to rusting (the knife should be thoroughly cleaned and dried after use, it is also advisable to occasionally rub the blade with oil).
