After the great success of the first LKU01 LP “La Prima” model, the knife designed in collaboration with Master of Arms Danilo Rossi Lajolo di Cossano, Extrema Ratio presents the new LKU01, a limited edition of only 600 pieces.
Unlike the LP collector’s edition, LKU01 is mainly designed for intensive use.
The stone washed finish allows a significant use of the blade without bearing evident marks on the surface coating – which characterizes the burnishing.
LKU01 is a folding knife that is easily concealable and quick to draw thanks to the absence of guards, which could get caught in the fabric of clothing.
Elegant and functional, simple but rich in details, its lines recall those typical of the traditional knife of popular short fencing, recalling the duels of the late nineteenth century. Style and materials are revised in a modern key. Its particular shape allows it to be used in three different ways: pointing, controlled cutting, and push dagger.
The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel hardened to 58 HRC, the time-tested Austrian steel enriched with chromium, vanadium, molybdenum and cobalt. Used by Extrema Ratio to produce its blades, this steel is characterized by the perfect balance between hardness, resistance and resilience, which are essential to obtain effective and long-lasting sharpening.
The clip is made of stainless steel with a stone washed finish; it is removable and reversible for ambidextrous use.
Anticorodal aluminum is the material chosen for the grips. The peculiarities of this material are the excellent qualities of mechanical strength and lightness, which allow the thickness of the knife to be reduced to a minimum. On the left side of the handle there is also the signature of Master Danilo Rossi Lajolo di Cossano, a further sign of the uniqueness of the knife.
Just like the blade and the clip, the pin also has a stone washed finish and is mounted in a strategic area, allowing the knife to be opened quickly.
The result is an essential and elegant line.
